She has watched entertainment evolve from vaudeville to night club circuits, from radio to tv, from variety shows to reality shows. She is a noted and generous philanthropist, serving as founding president of the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage near her home in California. A wonderful singer and recording artist in her own right, she is best known as the wife of famed entertainer Bob Hope. By his side, she has serenaded thousands of servicemen through their work with the USO.
