Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the family and friends of 4 year old Exodus Tyson, who died in a tragic home accident this week.
Exodus was reportedly strangled when she was playing and got caught in a cord attached to a treadmill. This is a sad reminder that cords and strings of all kinds pose a threat to young children and pets. From the cords attached to window blinds to the clothesline in the backyard, it is crucial to ensure children are instructed to never wrap such items around their bodies. Accidents happen so quickly and cord-related accidents are all too often fatal.
Now more than ever, as the school year draws near and thoughts turn to summer vacation and fun, it is important to do a family safety check of your home inside and out. Take time today to do a little prevention. Learn more about helpful tips on identifying and preventing strangulation hazards and home safety for kids. Play safe!
